A woman that desired to be God's instrument so that His love would shine through her. Deborah Thomas was a devout wife and mother of four boys. She achieved great success in the Banking industry, earning the respect and admiration of her peers and colleagues.
Education is a very important success tool that was emphasized to all that were fortunate enough to have a meaningful relationship with her. Deborah did not just say, but she truly believed that human beings could achieve whatever they set their minds to. "What is the plan?", she often asked because it is extremely difficult to attain such ambitions without a solid plan.
Wherever that plan brings you, be sure to give back to those less fortunate. "We are blessed to bless." A statement that she lived by faithfully. Through the course of her life, Deborah displayed countless selfless acts of kindness. Stewardship was her ultimate passion as she always looked for various ways to make this world a better place.
Deborah completed her race in 2018, but through it all demonstrated love and faith in her Heavenly Father, "Papa". Her legacy lives on through the many people in which she left such a powerful and everlasting impression.
The Deborah Thomas Scholarship Fund targets young adults that have ambitions of extending their education, but unfortunately unable to receive an academic full scholarship. Our scholarship are need-based scholarships to Juniors and Seniors to attend accredited colleges or universities, community colleges, vocational and trade schools. Applicants must abide by eligibility rules and will be awarded based on several factors such as GPA, Community Service, Extra Curricular Activities, and Writing ability. Awards may be available to students enrolled in full- or part-time studies to obtain their first undergraduate degree or certificate. Applicants that are awarded, will receive up to $10,000 in fields for Business, Medical, Computer Science, or Art.
Our goal for DTSF is to help ease the burden of college costs by annually awarding four students scholarship funding. Scholarships are not renewable and awarded amounts may fluctuate. Scholarships are never guaranteed.
